Permanent Makeup

Permanent Makeup in the Office of Dr. Hernandez

Permanent makeup is a cosmetic technique available in the offices of Dr. Hernandez, performed by licensed cosmetologist Angelica Fillmore. The technique is often referred to as derma pigmentation or micro pigmentation and is an option for anyone who wishes to enhance the definition of the eyebrows, the eyes, and the lips. Ms. Fillmore, like Dr. Hernandez, is committed to giving her clients a natural look and feel.

Anyone is a candidate for permanent makeup, especially those who feel they do not have the knowledge, expertise, or time to consistently apply traditional makeup to maintain their desired look, says Ms. Fillmore. As a licensed cosmetologist and an experienced makeup artist, I am able to help you not only identify your makeup style, but precisely apply it in a manner that will last for many years, allowing you to enjoy a more effortless lifestyle.

Permanent make-up by Ms. Fillmore can be an especially corrective measure for anyone who may have experienced significant loss of brow hair due to aging or such unique conditions as alopecia or chemotherapy. When correcting hair loss in the eyebrows, the experience can be transformative. It can virtually return vitality and expressiveness to a woman’s face.

A Consultation and the Drawing of the Desired Makeup Outline

In order to connect with the client and understand their objectives, Ms. Fillmore begins with a consultation, during which she applies traditional makeup to hone in on the style the client is seeking. As part of this evaluation, she will apply makeup in the areas of the face which the client wishes to permanently maintain.

This representation using traditional makeup is an essential aspect of the process. Once the client is satisfied with the temporary design of the eyebrows, the eyes, or the lips, and has approved it, Ms. Fillmore can begin the permanent application process.

Application of Permanent Makeup with Angelica Fillmore in Boca Raton

Prior to applying permanent makeup, the pigments are customized to coordinate with the individual’s hair coloring, eyebrow color, or lipstick choices. The procedure can take up to three to four hours, including the consultation.

Precision techniques take time, and I strive to be precise and artistic with all my applications of permanent pigmentation. That is my goal for each and every treatment, be it the eyebrows, the eyes, or the lips, says Ms. Fillmore.

After Application of Permanent Makeup

Throughout the recovery process, a permanent makeup client is directed to consistently keep the treated areas moisturized with a petroleum-based product. This is most important to ensure adhesion of the applied pigmentation in the treated areas.

Clients will experience minimal discomfort following an application of permanent makeup, yet Ms. Fillmore advises that because of swelling and puffiness, it would be advisable to limit public appearances and high profile events. All procedures may take up to a week to fully heal.
